Green Mission
As the leader in the design and manufacture of quality hardware for windows and doors Truth Hardware is widely known as the company whose customer care commitment values have set us apart from others in our industry. Truth Hardware also understands that we have a responsibility to not only our customers, but to the environment that we both share to ensure that our behavior and actions continue to have a positive impact.
The business ideals of being "flexible", "responsive", and "collaborative" have positioned Truth as the company that "chooses to care" about our customers. This same dedication and passion is also embodied in Truth's commitment to our environment through our focus on:
- Reducing waste
- Reusing materials at every opportunity
- Recycling
These 3-R's are a common theme in the efforts of today's businesses to "Go Green". Truth Hardware has two more "R's" we feel are just as important and which help Truth remain at the forefront in this green revival, and they are to be:
- Responsive
- Resourceful
Truth Hardware is committed to eliminating waste and saving energy through the discovery and development of new manufacturing technologies and improved operational processes. It is Truth's obligation to continue to explore and implement environmentally responsible business practices and we will work collaboratively with customers and suppliers who share this common goal.
Recycling and Waste Reduction Efforts at Truth Hardware
By using our resources wisely, Truth Hardware continues to make inroads into improving the environment that we all must share. Some examples of the recycling efforts currently underway at Truth Hardware are:
- Truth Hardware uses 100% recycled materials for our standard corrugated (boxes, liners, etc.)
- Truth Hardware purchases virgin material for our powder paint process and over 50% of the powder is reclaimed and re-used
- Truth Hardware purchases virgin zinc from mines and approximately 60% goes to the product and the balance goes into runners and over flows which is reclaimed and re-melted with nearly 100% re-use
- Truth Hardware recycles all of our process scrap (turnings, shavings, trimmings, etc.) of steel, SST, brass, aluminum
- Truth Hardware has a closed loop system (use/filter/re-use) for our cutting fluids
- Truth Hardware recently upgrade all our lighting in the factories to energy efficient lighting fixtures
- Truth Hardware has taken significant steps to go paperless where possible throughout our administrative functions
- Truth Hardware recycles 100% of our office paper
- Truth Hardware also offers on-site recycling containers in our lunchrooms for plastic and aluminum
